LOUISE WILLIAMS studied music and drama at Brunel University, with flute and singing as her specialities. After singing with a variety of local groups, she joined the BBC Symphony Chorus in 1995, becoming secretary for 3 years. During that time, she performed with a range of international conductors and orchestras both at home and abroad, and was a featured soloist in a concert of music by Carl Rutti broadcast on Radio 3. Her efforts were rewarded by being made an Honorary Member in 2004.
Having now achieved her long held ambition by qualifying as a teacher in March 2004, she has now set her sights firmly on encouraging and enthusing children in her first love, music. She is Conductor of the North-East Hampshire Young Singers and Charles Kingsley School Choir and established the flute ensembles, ‘Flute Salad’ and ‘Fresh Flute Salad’ and ‘Flute Cocktail’ and more recently, ‘Liquorice Stix’ for the clarinet players in the area.
Louise teaches flute and singing privately, works with the Hampshire Music Service, teaching Primary School children through the Listen 2 Me project, singing, ukulele, brass, fife, clarinet and samba, and most importantly, she has the invaluable help and support of her partner Matthew, three cats: Sparkie, George and Tilly, and her favourite colour is purple!
